Preparing the Sanctuary for Worship
The Altar Guild volunteers, both men and women, work together prepare our beautiful sanctuary for worship services.
WE ALWAYS WELCOME NEW VOLUNTEERS WHO WOULD LIKE TO DONATE THEIR TIME KEEPING OUR SANCTUARY WELL PREPARED FOR WORSHIP SERVICES!.
What exactly does the Altar Guild do?
- Set up the Altar for Worship Services
- Prepare and maintain all the linens used for Worship Services
- Sponsor a Sacremental Wine Sunday to replenish the wine for communion
- Maundy Thursday "stripping" the altar - a very beautiful and symbolic tradition before Easter
- Prepare banners for special services
- Decorate the Chrismon tree
- Prepare the Sanctuary for baptisms, confirmation, weddings and funerals
