The Interfaith Caregivers is a community service offered by several local church service committees. It began around 1997 and out of that grew the Interfaith Kitchen, which has been operating since 2000. The Interfaith Kitchen is responsible for serving food to the hungry and needy at least 4 nights per week at the First United Methodist Church basement. The Kitchen serves between 75 - 100 people per night - sometimes more.
Faith Lutheran has committed to serve meals on the second Tuesday of every month. Groups within the church; Sunday School classes, the Montessori School, Lutheran Men in Mission as well as families within the congregation purchase, prepare and serve for that one night per month.
The Interfaith Caregivers also open these doors on evenings when the temperature drops down to 40 degrees or lower. Faith members often assist by supervising the facility when the doors are open.
If you are interested in serving in this wonderful ministry, please contact Craig Parrillo for information at 717-4321 or our church office - 734-2791.
We thank these folks for giving of their time and energy! Please call the Church Office if you would like more information to volunteer.

We serve once a month (the second Tuesday) at the Interfaith Kitchen located in the basement of the First United Methodist Church, DeLand. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join the LMM, the Women of the ELCA, a Committee group, or a family group (7-8 people are recommended) in serving in this extremely important way. Remember that Faith Church pays for the food...no financial obligation is necessary!
At this time, the entrees for these dinners are being furnished...so we just need to provide a salad, veggies, beverages and desserts to complete the meals! If you would like to join together with other members or friends and serve one month...wonderful!!
We thank these folks for giving of their time and energy! Please call the Church Office if you would like more information to volunteer.
Upcoming Servers: If your group would like to serve, please call the Church Office.
