News from Children’s House Time Flies Children’s House has had a very busy fall – it is hard to believe that Christmas is around the corner! If you have not had the opportunity to visit our garden area in the back, please stop by. Our new Outdoor Montessori teacher Susi White has teamed up with our Master Gardener Outdoor assistant Christine McCord to create a beautiful and child friendly environment. The children plant seeds in our new potting shed, use our compost when setting out new plants, weed, water, thin and harvest (what the squirrels have not eaten!) Every other Friday they sell produce, herbs, flowers and fresh eggs at their Farmers’ Market. All of the children from preschool through upper elementary take part in this ambitious endeavor. Caring for the chickens and rabbits is their responsibility too. The chickens are so friendly that they allow the children to carry them, will actually sit on their laps, and be petted endlessly! We are hoping that the rabbits’ dispositions will improve after they are neutered… We appreciate Pastor Art’s participation at our Halloween Parade and Carnival and at our Thanksgiving Feast where in his prayer he offered thanks for our Montessori School. We would like to offer thanks to you this congregation for your continued support of our lovely little school for nearly forty years. Watch for our Children's House Montessori School Steel Drum Band in the DeLand Christmas Parade. The children will also be performing at the church’s Thursday Adult Fellowship Potluck luncheon on December 7. The entire school will take part in our annual Holiday Program to be held at Elizabeth Hall on the campus of Stetson University Wednesday, December 20 at 10 AM. Everyone is welcome to join us – there is plenty of room. Deborah DeGaetano’s hard work and creativity is endless. The performances are extraordinary. Dora Mallett Wishing You a Blessed Christmas
