Give Me Candy!
We are beginning to prepare for Trunk or Treat! Can you believe it? The Coordinator for this annual event is Christine Medrano and right now she is requesting from Faith candy donations in the coming weeks leading up to Thursday, October 31st. We will also need people to run the games that this event has for the kids. See Christine to let her know you can help. We are looking for at least 10 Trunks of Treats for this year's event so get your themes ready and get those skeletons out of your closets!
Hurricane Dorian has caused widespread destruction and flooding throughout the Bahamas and the U.S. While we continue to surround all affected in prayer, everyone who survived this hurricane will have needs. The ELCA is working closely with partners to respond to and support the communities affected. Your donations to both the synod disaster response fund and Lutheran Disaster Response allow the ELCA to be more flexible and responsive to those in need. Bishop Suárez and synod leadership will make a pastoral visit when it is safe. In the meantime just designate you gift for "Hurricane Response" and thank you!
It's that time of year again- for School Kits!
It's back to school time and a good time to pick up school supplies for our annual School Kit Drive! School Kits contain essential supplies to help children - and in some cases, adults - continue learning in the face of serious obstacles. That learning leads to a better life for them, their families and their communities. In next week's bulletin look for the school kit insert for the list of items to collect.
Help us with Food for Fellowship!
As you may know, we at Faith enjoy refreshments and snacks as well as fellowship after Sunday worship. Our volunteer hosts are always happy to provide these delights for us, especially those dishes they know we love. As you can imagine, this can get expensive - especially for those who host fellowship for us regularly. In appreciation for the good food they bring to us every week, we would like to help them out by bringing in food for fellowship. This will help their pocket books as well as our fellowship pantry! The best foods and drinks to bring in are those with a long shelf life such as sealed cookies, crisps, bottled tea, crackers and other snacks, but especially refreshments! Thanks!
The Altar Guild prepares the sanctuary for worship services. Members are responsible for the care and cleaning of the altar paraments, and are very knowledgeable in the aspects of the liturgy and Church seasons. There is no experience necessary, and training will be provided. If you would like to help serve the congregation by filling this vital role, please call the church office at 386-734-2791.
PLEASE REMEMBER IN YOUR DAILY PRAYERS: all those on our prayer chain, including: The Pomeroy Family, Faith Erickson, Lance Borows, Wilma Brokaw, Millie Glover, Ray Bebee, Carl Carey, Roy Erickson, Anna Anderson, Craig Parrillo, Faith Eriksen, Virginia Fauble, Martha Whitley, Kerry Sholtis, and Corinne Martinez.
