Hand Bell News: No Bells after Wednesdays’ Potluck – instead bells will ring after fellowship on Sunday. Beginning bells will be offered in the fall!
Rally Day will be held on the church grounds noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug 19th. Faith Lutheran and Children’s House Montessori School invite everyone to the event, which kicks off the school year. There will be plenty of food, snow cones, a water slide, games and other events for this neighborhood event so don’t miss out!
We Need Your Help!
Worship Assistants are needed. We need people to help out as Ushers, Acolytes, Communion Assistants and Lectors. Our volunteers are slowing down plus there is a need for an extra Usher every Sunday. If you can help out anywhere here, or need your name removed, please let Bob Bebee, or any council person know. Again, you are needed! The more people that volunteer, the fewer times you will be needed per year. Thanks!
We are collecting again for school kits! What should be included? 4 70-sheet notebooks, 1 30-centimeter ruler – or one with inches and centimeter markings, 1 pair of blunt scissors, 1 box of 16 or 24 crayons, 5 unsharpened #2 pencils bound by rubber band, 5 black or blue ballpoint pens bound by rubber band, 1 pencil sharpener, 1 2.5 inch eraser, and 1 drawstring backpack-style cloth bag.
All items should be new and in good condition. Remove any excess packaging, pack all items in bag and close. Please do not donate any items decorated with a U.S. flag, patriotic or military symbols, or references to the armed forces, including camouflage.
School kit handouts are available in the communication center in the fellowship hall.
Help us with Food for Fellowship!
As you may know, we at Faith enjoy refreshments and snacks as well as fellowship after Sunday worship. Our volunteer hosts are always happy to provide these delights for us, especially those dishes they know we love. As you can imagine, this can get expensive – especially for those who host fellowship for us regularly. In appreciation for the good food they bring to us every week, we would like to help them out by bringing in food for fellowship. This will help their pocket books as well as our fellowship pantry! The best foods and drinks to bring in are those with a long shelf life such as sealed cookies, crisps, bottled tea, crackers and other snacks, but especially refreshments! Thanks!
The Altar Guild prepares the sanctuary for worship services. Members are responsible for the care and cleaning of the altar paraments, and are very knowledgeable in the aspects of the liturgy and Church seasons. There is no experience necessary, and training will be provided. If you would like to help serve the congregation by filling this vital role, please call the church office at 386-734-2791.
